Bed structure

Friends climbing in, a dog and a cat joining too—the extra weight is no challenge for this bed. It is made from highly durable laminated birch wood panels, with the corners reinforced at two points using metal connectors—one more than is actually necessary. In addition, we have rounded the corners of the footboard, giving the bed a distinctive sense of warmth and coziness.

The slatted base ensures that the mattress does not sag between gaps and maintains its proper shape for years to come. It is made from 28 flexible and durable slats, each 35 mm wide. This provides excellent support and allows the bed to be used with all types of mattresses.

"While designing the LIEPA bed series, I aimed to create a piece of furniture that provides children with a sense of security—both physically and emotionally. The bed’s side panel embraces them, creating a cozy feeling of privacy, which is especially important when sharing a room. Children are dreamers and creators, builders of little homes, and they can peacefully rest in the shade of the linden tree after a busy day."
