Gaudutė Žilytė

Gaudutė Žilytė is a designer and researcher specializing in social design. In her creative practice, she strives not only for functionality and aesthetics but also for emotional, educational, and inclusive impact across diverse communities.

A playful spirit of childhood pervades her studio, where experiments, trials, and discoveries give rise to authentic ideas and solutions that unite meaning, function, and aesthetics.

While designing the beds, the designer sought to meet all the needs of a young person. The playfully designed SAULUTĖ bed was created with functionality in mind. A built-in shelf in the headboard allows for convenient storage of books, a bedside lamp, or other essentials.

The LIEPA bed provides children not only with physical but also emotional security, especially when sharing a room with a sibling. “The bed’s side panel gently embraces, creating a sense of cozy privacy that is especially important when several people share the same space. Children—dreamers, creators, little house-builders—can rest peacefully in the shade of the linden tree after a busy day,” says the designer.

Finally, inspired by the soft dunes of the Baltic coast, the green moss of pine forests, and the gently rippling sea, the KOPA bed invites young people to slow down from the rush of everyday life and helps create a warm, tranquil bedroom atmosphere that welcomes sweet dreams.
