Main pillow and duvet care rules

It's hard to imagine a more pleasant feeling than lying down in a clean, fresh-smelling, and comfortable bed after an intense day. Clean bedding not only ensures quality sleep but also contributes to well-being and health. It probably goes without saying that bed sheets, pillowcases, and duvet covers should be washed regularly, but how often do you think about cleaning your bedding itself?

Over time, dirt, along with dust mites and even mold, can accumulate in our pillows and duvets. For this reason, the LONAS team invites you to learn about different bedding care rules based on material type.

Wool Pillows and Duvets

To maintain fresh and clean wool bedding, it is recommended to shake and air it regularly, preferably outdoors. It is also important to note that natural wool pillows and duvets should not be washed, but they can be dry cleaned if necessary.

  • Do not wash
  • Do not bleach
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Do not iron
  • Dry clean (P)
  • Air regularly

Cotton Pillows and Duvets

Natural cotton fiber pillows and duvets are relatively easy to care for. They can be either dry cleaned or machine washed using a gentle cycle and liquid detergent. To maintain a clean sleeping environment, it is also recommended to air cotton bedding regularly.

  • Wash at 40-60°C
  • Do not bleach
  • Do not tumble dry or dry at very low temperature
  • Do not iron
  • Dry clean (P)

Down and Feather Pillows and Duvets

If you want to sleep as if on a cloud, down and feather pillows and duvets should be fluffed daily and aired regularly. Regarding cleaning, dry cleaning is recommended, but machine washing is also an option. Use a large-capacity washing machine, a gentle cycle, and a small amount of liquid detergent. After washing, it is crucial to dry the bedding completely and fluff it well to restore its original shape.

  • Wash at 60°C
  • Do not bleach
  • Dry at very low temperature
  • Do not iron
  • Dry clean (P)

TENCEL™ Fabric Pillows and Duvets

TENCEL™ fabric combines the best properties of various fibers, making it warm, soft, breathable, eco-friendly, and easy to maintain. Pillows and duvets made from this fabric can be washed at 40°C using a gentle cycle and liquid detergent.

  • Wash up to 40°C
  • Do not bleach
  • Dry at low temperature
  • Do not iron
  • Do not dry clean

Polyester Pillows and Duvets

Polyester fiber bedding is the easiest to care for. Polyester pillows and duvets can be machine washed on a delicate cycle, hand washed, or dry cleaned. Additionally, washed bedding can be dried both outdoors and in a tumble dryer.

  • Wash up to 60°C
  • Do not bleach
  • Dry at very low temperature
  • Do not iron
  • Dry clean (P)

Memory Foam and Latex Pillows

Caring for orthopedic pillows that adapt to the body is very simple. The pillow cover is removable and can be washed at 30-60°C. Before washing, check the care label and follow the given recommendations. Meanwhile, pillow cores can be aired, avoiding direct sunlight.

  • Cover can be washed at 30°C - 60°C
  • Do not bleach
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Do not iron
  • Dry clean (P)

General Care Tips
